We run our own flock of rare Wensleydale longwool sheep, as well as a flock of the beautiful Ryeland sheep and other mixed breeds. Wensleydale wool is famous for its high lustre and beautiful long dreadlocks, it is a popular fleece for crafters.
We live in the wide expanse of lower Wensleydale. Only 10 minutes from the A1 but surrounded by fields on all sides, we run flocks of sheep including the rare Wensleydale longwool sheep. Our sheep are gentle by nature and having always been interested in fleece and wool products, we have been inspired to share the joy that our animals bring, the lovely products that can be produced from wool and our beautiful surroundings. We are a family-run business and three generations are involved in every stage of production from lambing to finished garments!
We weave our tweed by hand using the yarn produced from our Wensleydale sheep. We have used a variety of colours and produced all sorts of different tweeds including traditional greens, greys and browns through to the more vibrant pinks and yellows. We have then turned our tweed into caps, which we have hand-crafted adding a few personal touches along the way.
